Children of the Corndog

Inclusive improv from Austin, TX

Children of the Corndog is a troupe of improvisers from Austin, TX, with the goals of inclusion, the healthy processing of pain, and lifting others up through collective creativity. We also like to make people laugh!

Our troupe started in improv classes at Merlin Works Improv. As we worked to create community, several of us found that we wanted to keep doing this together.

The group has since expanded, as some of us have played with other theatres or in troupes, such as ComedySportz Austin, and we've brought in new players.

In addition to regular performances, we're looking to expand into social impact opportunities. These are what we consider our core values:

  1. Responsible processing of trauma through the promotion of mental health.
  2. Equal opportunities for female-identifying, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC performers.
  3. Supportive community through a shared love of laughter, inclusion, and social change.
  4. Commitment to lifelong learning and a growth mindset.
  5. Respect for the traditions of improv performance, while looking to push the medium forward.
